Cooper Barnes grew up in suburban Michigan, where there is apparently nothing to do but create a repertoire of silly voices and impersonations. He studied theatre, film and fine arts at Eastern Michigan University and worked professionally at Ann Arbor's Performance Network Theatre (where he won an Oakland Press Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Wit) and Detroit's Gem Theatre under the direction of Jeff Daniels.
Since moving to LA, Cooper has had lead roles in several indie films including Sunken City, Googly Eyes, The Guy F*cking Your Girlfriend and The Perfect Host, a film where he plays an imaginary friend to David Hyde Pierce. He starred alongside Dean Cain and John Savage in the Ion made-for-TV feature Defending Santa and also voiced several roles for the hit animation feature, Escape from Planet Earth.
As a founding member of the award-winning sketch group Frog Island, Cooper's work has accumulated millions of hits on YouTube and appeared in competitions on both NBC and SyFy Net. The group's Loading Zone pilot won Best Variety Show at the Independent Television Awards and their Pacino and Pacino Talent Agency web series ran on Atom.com. Cooper has written and/or starred in web work for Funny or Die, Electric Spoofaloo, and Babelgum. He also hosted the online comic book review show, Cavern of Comics.
Cooper has appeared on Suburgatory, Jessie, Switched at Birth, Californication, Cold Case, Victorious, Good Luck Charlie, Pair of Kings and Frank TV. He has contributed a wide variety of voices to sketch pieces for TBS's Conan and guest starred on the Fox reboot pilot of In Living Color. He has been a recurring panelist for Take Part Live (Pivot), Hollywood's Top Ten (Reelz) and The Countdown (Reelz). Cooper currently stars as superhero Captain Man on Nickelodeon's live action series, Henry Danger, which is entering its second full season.
