Avra (like avocado) is an actress, stand-up comedian, and writer. Recent credits include: Steven Soderbergh’s newest comedy series, Now Apocalypse, on STARZ, playing the recurring role of Magenta, a very committed but meek and untalented actress; Late Night with Lilly Singh (NBC), Now Apocalypse (Starz, EP Steven Soderbergh), This Giant Beast... (Amazon Studios, EP Adam McKay), TruTV, Adult Swim, Lifetime, Awesomeness TV, BuzzFeed, The New Yorker, Super Deluxe, JASH, Elizabeth Banks' WhoHaha, Amy Poehler's Smart Girls, and more.
As a writer/creator, her videos have been featured on WhoHaha and Funny or Die and her writing has garnered awards and nominations from LA Web Fest, Brooklyn Web Fest, and Women in Media. Avra’s sketch writing has been featured on live shows all over Los Angeles, including UCB, the Ruby Theater, and the late Nerdist.
As a comic she was the winner of Gotham Comedy Club’s New Talent Competition, was one of Hollywood Laugh Factory's 2020 Fresh Faces, and has opened for Tim Allen, Gilbert Gottfried, and Jay Mohr. Avra is also the co-host and co-creator of the hit show, All My Single Friends, 1/2 comedy show, 1/2 live dating app, which plays to sold-out audiences in LA and was recently in development for television under Jon Cryer's Production Company, Discount Sushi.
